Here’s What You Need to Know Before Getting Lip Fillers

If you ask dermatologists and cosmetologists about the hottest non-surgical beauty treatment right now, most of them would probably answer lip fillers. Tons of people on the beauty community are getting it done, most especially beauty gurus on YouTube, which is why more and more people are getting into the trend.

However, though non-surgical, lip injections and fillers should be executed correctly and must only be done by a professional. Today, we will discuss some of the things that you should always remember before getting lip fillers are Juvederm injections here in Salt Lake City.

Prepare for the Procedure

There are definitely a few things that you should and should not do before getting lip fillers. For instance, you cannot take any sort of anti-inflammatory medicines, aspirins, fish oil, ibuprofen, or even multivitamins before the procedure. All of these medicines and vitamins can cause your blood to thin temporarily.

You will get bruises on your lips if you do decide to take some of these beforehand. You should also avoid drinking caffeinated drinks such as coffee and tea beforehand, as this has the same effect as the medicines that we have mentioned above.

Choose the Right Fillers

There are different types of fillers in the market, including collagen and hyaluronic fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm. If you want a more natural look, then you might want to go for the Restylane, but if you are looking for a bigger and nicer pout, then you might want to try Juvederm.

You should never go ham on these things though, as doing so can easily spell disaster. Go slow and just decide to go bigger after a few months or so.

Avoid Numbing Cream if You Can

If you have a high tolerance for pain, then you might want to avoid getting numbing cream before the procedure. Numbing cream can naturally plump your lips temporarily, which means that it will be a lot harder to gauge the fullness and true effect of the fillers.

The injections might be painful for a lot of people, but it will only last for a couple of seconds. Doctors will also most likely advise against it, but it will also depend on your pain tolerance and personal choice.

You Can Have it Dissolved

Lip fillers do not last forever; in fact, most lip fillers will only last for about six months or so. If you want it completely removed, you can do that, too. If you feel like you have grown tired of it or you need it gone for some reason, you always have the option to go back to your doctor and have the fillers removed completely.

However, not all fillers are easy to remove. If you feel like you’d be changing your mind soon, then it would be best if you could go for hyaluronic-based fillers, as these can be dissolved and removed a lot easier compared to collagen.

Always ask your doctor about the pre and post-care regarding the lip fillers so you can prepare for it. Remember that it might take a bit of getting used to, but you’ll get the hang of it pretty quickly.
